Delusions

You awaken to find,
That your world is grey,
Full of devastation and disease,
Rampant with crime.

You stare out of the window,
Clueless about anything,
And wonder why it came to be,
Anything but a peaceful earth.

You blink your eyes and
Pray that it is a nightmare,
And close your eyes and
Go to sleep once more.

But when you awaken,
You find that
Things are
Just the same.
