Musical Escapades
This week has been a sort of "musical week" for me. On Monday, after having combined sectionals (is that an oxymoron?) with the tenors, I went home, then went out again to attend the RV Chorale Concert at Victoria Concert Hall, "Music of the Night". Well, the organist was good, but the choir wasn't fantastic. The guys couldn't really be heard; indeed, the sopranos covered them. Soprano soloists weren't strong, but I'll discount this, for they are all of a tender age. Pieces from "Phantom of the Opera" were quite alright, at least it was interesting.
On Tuesday, had rehearsal for our carolling. By the end of the day, I felt entirely drained.
Today, or rather, Wednesday, saw me attending the RVHS Alumni Choir Concert at CHIJMES - a place I've always considered an excellent venue to sing in. Some pieces were really nice, like "All Things Bright And Beatutiful". Loved it. Also liked "Pokpok Alimpako", don't really understand why Peiying doesn't. But the tenor Reuben Lai was magnificent. He has this very forward sound. Haha.
Ok, so carolling begins tomorrow. Or rather, today. Haha. To singing!
