Goodbye to a Friend

Goodbye.

I never really understood you as a friend, much less an acquaintance. You liked to engage in intellectual, political and mystical discussions and comment on everything no other man would. You would criticise governments and politicians and talk about religion even. And you are David.

I wish you all the best, I don't know if you'll ever get to read this, but I'm sure everyone out there who cares will want to convey the same message. You came and changed our lives, or at the least, influenced our thinking and logic. I hope you will find your world in the States. A place where you can feel comfortable in. A place where you can be free. A place where you can fly without wings. And fly to anywhere, to the moon and back. We hope that you will discover an area of interest you can get involved in. And we are patiently waiting. And waiting.

All the best.

Writing Journals

Many people have not been updating their blogs recently, nor even touched them for months. I just feel that this is so sad, for we lag on interesting news that might have happened lately. I guess everyone is too busy to really go online, much less to put something on their online journal. So here I am today, trying to think of something that is most uninteresting to post, in order to offer some interesting reading for everyone out there.

Undeniably, the date of the release of the GCE 'O' Level results draw nearer and nearer, people begin to fear the mere mention of that dreaded examination... I hope that everyone out there will get into an institution of there choice, I wish everyone the best. However, at the same time, I try to forget about anything to do with the release of the results... we should try to enjoy ourselves as much as possible, and do something fufilling within this short period of time.

And though people may be cursing me for bringing up such a memorable topic, I say things will come, and there is no use avoiding them. We must one day face the future as the present. Time... it does not wait, people do not cling on to the swinging hands of the clock... or rather, there is no point in doing so. We advance and never retreat, for retreat only brings you back into the past, an abyss of memories that are but virtual.

So look forward and enjoy tomorrow, for the clock still continues to tick away, for it is time that brings life.

On Poetry

I was tempted to follow Colin's style of naming my title that begins with "ON". I decided to do it. Anyway, I've just gotta share with everyone here a some words from a poem, The Beach by Ted Hughes:

"It darkened a darkness darker."

Isn't this great?

And oh, though I'm in Science, I'm taking Lit. As well as Econs. Effectively taking only one Science subject.

Vampires

Have you ever heard from your superstitious parents/grandparents that a person who can live till a very old age does so at the expense of his/her children's mortality? I think I may have found the reason:-

Psychic Vampyres
by Everglais
POSTED: 24 July 98

Although the word vampyre conjures up images of fanged, blood-thirsty monsters, their is another type of vampyre which is more realistically possible. The Psychic Vampyre is a being which "feeds" on another human-beings energy, or life force, instead of their blood. Unlike the traditional creatures, psychic vampyres are usually mortal. Their are two types of psychic vampyres, intentional and unintentional. Intentional psychic vampyres are predators who actively "hunt" for victims, without regard for their well being. This makes them monstrous, and closer to blood vampyres. Unintentional psychic vampyres are more of a victim, unable to produce enough life force for themselves. They must draw energy from others, often times friends or family, in order to feel well or even survive. This need for one's life force is usually caused by illness, but can be found among elderly people as well. The taking of psychic energy from ones astral body can be done unconsciously, and without the victim or the vampyre knowing.
Intentional psychic vampyres usually exist within an astral body after mortal death, and will feed on the force of living person's astral bodies in an attempt to escape the afterlife, or to live forever.

Death by psychic vampyrism is rare, but not impossible. If enough of a victim's life force is drawn out, it may cause physical affects which can lead to death. Symptoms of psychic vampyre attacks include fatigue, weakened immune system, dizziness, headaches, and in few cases, dimensia. Dimensia usually follows a severe attack, or multiple ones.

Since a psychic vampyre does not perform the act of "feeding" in a visible way with the physical body, it is nearly impossible to determine who is one and who is not. Psychics can sometimes read the deep purple auras which engulf the prey of the vampyre. People with heightened psychic ability can sense their energy being fed upon, and therefore prevent it.

Their is no easy method for protecting one's self from psychic vampyres. Because they continue on in their astral bodies, the death of the physical body does not affect them...it may even make them more powerful. Instead, the only way to protect against them is by casting spells to remove them from a home or one's self. But this only drives them to another person. Psychic vampyres are immortal in their mortality.

The Walk

Once a man came upon a dias while venturing into the deepest jungle. Upon stepping onto the stone steps of the dias, he was transported to the hottest desert he could have ever imagined.

Shocked, he started walking and saw a mysterious orb floating in the mist of the desert. He approached it carefully and put his hands around the thing. Suddenly crimson flames grew around it and seared his limbs.

So he ignored the treasure and kept walking.
