Black

No this is not a racist entry.

Just that many of the things in life are actually black. While taking the MRT last Friday, I saw a lot of faces, and these faces gave me an inspiration to post something of substantial length on my blog.

All the faces, I noticed, were not smiling. There was one person who was nearly crying, for some reasons which are unknown to me of course. But throughout the course of my journey, I really never saw anyone with a smile. Well, maybe people who smile on the train will be considered by some to be mentally unstable, but really happy people wouldn't care. That's why mentally unsound patients are more carefree than normal people, because they don't have to, or rather cannot perceive the world around them as others do.

Life is black; let's face this fact. No one has ever denied the challenges of life that make it seem so demanding, so excruciating, so... tormenting... No one has ever said that life is totally a fun thing. No one ever did. But what people have done are to take others' lives, and taken their own. What makes life so interesting is that no one wants to be denied a life, yet at the same time no one would want to be thrown into one hapless and helpless. Weird irony. And the most amazing thing is, when you die, you end up like the others who came before you; it didn't matter to Hades whether they were rich or poor, pretty or ugly, intelligent or stupid. In the end, you come back to the same place from where you started from. Nothing.

The thing is, you come into life with nothing, you leave with nothing, not even memories. The only thing that really records the deeds of a person is the memories of others.

Life is black, and we all strive to turn it white, so that one day, we can be pure when we die. But think about it, what is the use when other people do not recognise your conviction? Because ultimately, the only thing one will be remembered for is the things, the great things you did when you were alive.

I made the choice to stay in Hwa Chong. Ultimately it'll lead me to the same path, but right now, I hope I wouldn't regret my choice even after my last breath, perhaps decades later.

Black.

To All

It's really sad when you know after 3 months, you have to leave the friends around you. Well new friends they say, no doubt, I just hope I can stay.

Ideal Religion

Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants

Also sometimes referred to as secular, modern, or humanistic. This is an umbrella term for Protestant denominations, or churches within denominations, that view the Bible as the witness of God rather than the word of God, to be interpreted in its historical context through critical analysis. Examples include some churches within Anglican/Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, Unitarian, United Church of Christ. There are more than 2,000 Protestant denominations offering a wide range of beliefs from extremely liberal to mainline to ultra conservative and those that include characteristics on both ends.

Belief in Deity: Trinity of the Father (God), the Son (Christ), and the Holy Spirit that comprises one God Almighty. Many believe God is incorporeal.

Incarnations: Beliefs vary from the literal to the symbolic belief in Jesus Christ as God's incarnation. Some believe we are all sons and daughters of God and that Christ was exemplary, but not God.

Origin of universe and life: The Bible's account is symbolic. God created and controls the processes that account for the universe and life (e.g. evolution), as continually revealed by modern science.

After death: Goodness will somehow be rewarded and evil punished after death, but what is most important is how you show your faith and conduct your life on earth.

Why evil? Most do not believe that humanity inherited original sin from Adam and Eve or that Satan actually exists. Most believe that God is good and made people inherently good, but also with free will and imperfect nature which leads some to immoral behavior.

Salvation: Various beliefs: Some believe all will go to heaven as God is loving and forgiving. Others believe salvation lies in doing good works and no harm to others, regardless of faith. Some believe baptism is important. Some believe the concept of salvation after death is symbolic, or nonexistent.

Undeserving Suffering: Most Liberal Christians do not believe that Satan causes suffering. Some believe suffering is part of God's plan, will, or design even if we don't immediately understand it. Some don't believe in any spiritual reasons for suffering, and most take a humanistic approach to helping those in need.

Contemporary Issues: Most churches teach that abortion is morally wrong, but many ultimately support a woman's right to choose, usually accompanied by policies to provide counseling on alternatives. Many are accepting of homosexuality and gay rights.

What would your ideal religion be?

Love

Sometimes a cruel world lashes out at you incessantly, and you cannot cannot stop it. You feel hapless and helpless, but you know you must be strong; you've got a life to live and a person to love.

Torture - The Rack

Victims are tied into you and stretched inch by agonizing inch, until they are either rent limb from limb or they confess. Or hey, maybe both. Not as bad as some people, someone tells you what you want to hear you'll feel better.

What torture would you be?

On D&D

I Am A: Chaotic Good Elf Ranger Bard

Alignment:
Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently conccern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Secondary Class:
Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.

Deity:
Solonor Thelandria is the Chaotic Good elven god of archery and the hunt. He is also known as the Keen Eye, the Great Archer, and the Forest Hunter. His followers respect nature, and only hunt when needed, but are quick to defend the forest from intruders. Their favorite weapon is the bow, and they tend to be extremely talented with it. Solonor Thelandria's symbol is an arrow with green fletchings.

Dreams

I just woke up this afternoon from a dream, crying. And I really don't know why. I can't remember the dream, but I cried.

I'm scared.

Ocean

The waves come crashing on the endless beach,
The golden sand drifting away,
It is all but a fleeting dream,
And the fishes below the ocean swim.

A storm ravages on the open sea,
Swallowing a whole ferry and her crew,
People yelling out for rescue,
Yet the fishes below the ocean swim.

The storm subsides,
The water becomes calm once more,
Something is wrong - is missing,
Still the fishes below the ocean swim.

People come people go,
They witness the magnificent beach.
But who would have thought,
All the fishes below the ocean

Never existed.
