Darkened Skies

Even in an age where technology has been assimilated into everyday life, the sun remains a vital part of the lives of many; of scientists, meteorologists, poets, artists, farmers and probably a whole horde of many other professions.

However, in an era where the skies are often shrouded by the clouds of death, destruction and disaster, we don't really get to see the malovalent sun. But we are confident, confident that the massive globe of gas and fire will continue to shine for the people of earth. We are confident.

But in a period where peace is rare, and war is cultured in the laboratory by using the seeds of hatred, people need to be reassured that their sun is burning away, brightly and surely. Insecurity bugs many a people in an uncertain world like today's. And the comfort the sun can bring is unlike any other. The sun provides for all lifeform that exists on earth, directly or indirectly, through it's infinite warmth and compassion. The healing rays of the life-giver has never been doubted.

There is no reason not to appreciate the marvels and wonders the sun can bring, but in an age where all we see are darkened skies, how many of us have actually noticed the existence of our sun?

Whatever it is, our sun is there, watching over us, nurturing us, bringing us hope, peace and comfort.

A Star

He peered out of his fogged up window, hoping to catch a glimpse of the winter outside. It was freezing, like what it should be, and even the house, with its small cozy fire, was not a very excellent shelter in the snow. He rubbed the window pane, hoping to wipe off the condensed vapour, but the condensed vapour had frosted into ice crystals. Discouraged, the young boy retreated into his tiny little bed and withdrew himself into thick sheets of blanket.

Meanwhile, a blizzard was blowing outside of the safety of the cozy little house. The snowstorm was merciless, blanketing millions of micro-organisms under layers of thick, deadly snow. So thick was the frost, the ground threatened to give in under the tremendous stress of the icy winter. Ice was everywhere, it was lifelessly cold.

It was evening. The young boy awoke, and peered out of the window again. Strangely, all the frost that had been there was gone. The snowstorm had subsided long ago, and some of the ice was already melting. The young'un couldn't believe his dear eyes. This time, he rubbed his eyes. Once, then again. Nothing. Everything that should have been there was gone. And he saw a bright light shining far in the distant sky.

There it was, shining brightly in the sky. Venus. The morning and evening star.

And it was there, shining.

Thoughts About Thoughts

I've been thinking, we think about thoughts all the time, but do we really know what we are thinking? People are made different, and it is then understandable that two brothers will have two different sets of thought. So the question is what is a thought? Well well, the absurdities of human behaviour... Why do we even bother thinking about what a thought is? And you thought you had the right thought.

Soul

I am truly passionate.

Find your soul type
at kelly.moranweb.com.

You're excited about life and in touch with yourself and nature. Tell me, do I have this straight?

Virtues: You appreciate humor like none other. Puns might even spark laughter in you (TEHY R FUNNI). You seek adventure and connection with your surroundings. You seek friends who will not only share laughs with you but actually form a deep bond of trust and empathy beneath the surface. You look for adventure and courage in people, and variation is necessary to keep you under control. You see yourself as multi-faceted, so you need people who can see you in your many lights. You're constantly trying to figure yourself out while analyzing the people around you. Silly, silly people.

Aspirations: You can't decide what you want to be yet, but you know you want it to be adventures and interesting, with constant changes. You don't know what love will do for you yet, but it's competing with adventure for a place in your heart. An internal conflict has begun: can you be a successful worker, lover, and parent all at once?

Quirks: Noise of any sort is irritating when you're in the mood. Smacking gum, loud chewing, humming- it's about as pleasing as bodily noises. You dislike emaciated people because of jealousy and just plain disgust. You're a procrastinator but a hard worker, too.

Factors: You need constant attention and support. You're high-maintnence, but a great, reliable friend. Nature needs you and you need nature; it's helped thus far, so keep in touch with the outside world.

Future: Who knows! You absolutely need constant change, so vacationing is surely in the cards. Will you settle down or not? Love will find you eventually, as it does to everyone. Will you choose the sweet home life or the rewarding busy-bee life?

Fire

I got burnt when I went too near the fire. And within that flame laid a treasure. But I could not reach it. The crimson flames would just lick my fingers, much to the annoyance of my nervous system. Indeed, it was difficult to even touch the treasure, not to mention to retrieve it.

So I ignored that artifact, and continued in my journey. But along the way, I encountered several similar shimmering orbs that glowed like they were the moon. But whenever I went near one, it would just be lighted up, first bursting into an inferno, then settling down into a stable, steady orange flame. I was never going to find out what these orbs were, or what they meant.

I looked at my hands, and they were marked with a numerous dozens scars arising from high degree burns. These scars were to remain there for the rest of my life, serving as a cruel reminder of my failures.
